[February 2025 Activity Report] Children’s Cafeteria – Nagasaki Mihara Garden

On February 8, the monthly Children’s Cafeteria event was held at Café Giverny in Mihara Garden. This time, the event provided an opportunity for children to experience filleting a longtooth grouper (kue) and enjoy warm, seasonal dishes.

[Activities]

・FIH Children’s Farm Maintenance
The children engaged in farm work, connecting with nature as they worked with the soil and learned about the growth of vegetables.

・Kue Filleting Experience
The children were captivated by the impressive sight of a large kue being expertly filleted before their eyes. This hands-on session provided them with valuable insights into the structure of fish and the importance of appreciating life as food.

[Meal Gathering]
A delicious meal featuring sukiyaki, kue hot pot, and ramen was served. The kue hot pot, in particular, was a big hit, and the children enjoyed their meals while gathered around the warm dishes. It was a heartwarming moment as they expressed gratitude for the food and enjoyed the comforting flavors of the season.
